Guide scope

Installer-managed items are intentionally outside this guide: server deployment, database deployment, OAuth application credential creation, and SSO provider configuration.

Department administrators configure what StationCommand does after installation: department identity, licensing, physical stations, paired TVs, personnel/devices, Active911, CAD agency mappings, display rotation, mapping providers, optional tracking, weather/lightning, reports, public screens, EOC, and StationCommand Home.

The B.3.2.0 mission-ready path

The member menu

The authenticated Menu includes licensed/authorized launchers such as My Statistics, My Settings, Incident History, Upcoming Events, Announcements, Public Statistics, physical Station Displays, and Administration for administrators.

My Settings

B.3 adds a dedicated member settings page for profile information and personal Active911 location-sharing controls. Responder location sharing is off by default and can be turned off again at any time.

Officer incident controls

Chief, Deputy Chief, Captain, and administrators receive active-incident controls where configured, including extending an incident display window and clearing an incident from station displays.

Favorite / drag layout

Menu cards can be favorited and reordered. Reset Layout restores the default arrangement.

Administration workspace

The current B.3.2.0 Administration workspace includes:

StationCommand License

Open Administration → StationCommand License, enter/replace the license key if needed, and use Save & Validate License or Validate License.

• Confirm plan/status.
• Confirm licensed physical-station count.
• Confirm expected entitlements.
• Confirm public-statistics usage/limit.
• Confirm recent successful validation.

Department Branding

Set the official department name and upload/use the department logo. Supported uploaded images include PNG/JPG/WEBP/GIF/SVG up to the application's displayed limit. Use the preview, save, and verify the identity on internal/public screens. Use StationCommand Default Logo restores the built-in mark.

Station Displays & managed pairing

Physical stations and paired TV/browser devices are managed together under Administration → Station Displays.

Physical stations

Add each station, enter its address, map it, and verify the marker. This station is used as the route origin when assigned to a display.

Pair permanent TVs

On the TV/mini-PC, open https://agency.stationcommand.app/display. The pending request appears automatically in Administration with the same six-digit code. Compare the code, choose the station/profile, then Approve or Deny.

Per-display profile

Choose idle slides, rotation speed, calendar list/4-week view, Address History Lookback (1 month through 10 years or Indefinite), and responder participation scroll delay. Mutual Aid is now an available idle slide.

After pairing

Station assignment/settings can be changed centrally and pushed to the live browser without re-pairing. Revoke & Remove invalidates the credential immediately and records the event in Security Logs.

Personnel, accounts, devices & apparatus

Use Personnel to manage member identity, ranks, accounts, participation, apparatus, and device links. Access levels are User, EOC Manager, and Admin; rank and access are separate.

Responder Device Directory

Administrators can import an Active911 device CSV at https://agency.stationcommand.app/device. Include Name and Device Code. StationCommand stores the numeric Device Code portion and can auto-link exact personnel/account/apparatus names.

Active911 integration

Core configuration remains under Administration → Integrations → Active911 Integration.

• Enable API.
• Enter/replace Refresh Token.
• Set polling interval (15–3600 seconds) and active alert window.
• Enable webhook and generate a new webhook secret.
• Save settings and copy the generated Active911 “Other” Integration URL.
• Use Test API / Webhook Processing, then verify a real dispatch/CAD-fed alert increments Received/Processed.

Private device tracking

Optional Apparatus Tracking / Responder Tracking plus 15/30/60-second refresh. Tracking requires Read Devices and has additional privacy gates. See Private Device Tracking.

CAD Agency / Township Mapping

Configure prefixes, service jurisdictions, Report Short Name, and Our Department. These settings support jurisdiction-aware mapping and mutual-aid reporting. See Mutual Aid.

Audible Incident Announcement

Optional private station-display text-to-speech can play a custom start tone and speak a template containing fields such as department, type, title, address, cross streets, narrative, station, received time, CAD code, responder count/names, address history, and weather alert. Use Test on This Browser before operational use.

StationCommand Home

Each Home instance receives its own signing secret and Respond API token so it can be enabled/tested/revoked independently.

Mapping & Multiview

B.3 uses one mapping configuration across StationCommand maps. OpenStreetMap remains the permanent foundation underneath configured sources.

Sources

Supported source types include XYZ, ArcGIS Cached MapServer, ArcGIS Dynamic MapServer, ArcGIS ImageServer, WMS, and Google. Set priority, enable/disable, attribution, layers, role (Standard/Satellite), and maximum zoom.

ArcGIS address matching

Configure ArcGIS GeocodeServer providers and optional road-centerline snap; use Test Address before operations. Kent County installations can use Add Kent County GIS Preset.

Aircraft and overlays

Set map controls/weather/aircraft defaults by map context, aircraft mode (off/all/helicopters), radius/refresh, and overlay order. EOC may temporarily override EOC settings during an activation.

Multiview and Street View

Configure automatic/manual satellite mode, independent satellite priority, zoom 15–22, optional Google Street View, and Street View radius 25–250 m. Intersections skip Street View by design; missing panoramas fall back to full satellite.

Weather & B.3.2.0 Lightning Detection

Weather administration controls the forecast point, National Weather Service status, radar/test alerts, and optional Xweather/Vaisala lightning.

Weather point

Default is station-center logic; administrators can use the map, ZIP, coordinates, or return to automatic station center.

NWS tests

Refresh Weather Now, Test Tornado Warning Display, and Clear Test Alert are available. TEST alerts stay inside StationCommand.

Lightning

Configure pulse types, monitoring radius, Critical/Warning/Advisory radii, display history, all-clear delay, storm/quiet polling, and map visibility. Use Save Lightning Settings followed by Test Xweather Connection.

Private Active911 device tracking

Apparatus/responder coordinates are private operational data. Apparatus tracking is department-controlled. Responder tracking requires the department switch, member opt-in under My Settings, a linked Active911 device, and RESP/ARRIV eligibility. No browser GPS is requested.

Freshness behavior: 0–2 min full color; >2–30 min faded; >30 min gray. Exact positions are not included in public APIs/analytics/history. StationCommand Home receives tracking availability in webhooks and fetches eligible positions using the bearer-protected Respond API.

Incident operations & Call Classification

Incident Records supports search, year/month/date range, category/status filters, sorting, editing, map-pin correction, timeline review, mutual-aid editing, responder participation, statistics inclusion/exclusion, and 30-minute reactivation.

Call Classification

Administration → Call Classification manages categories, rule hints, adaptive learning, similarity/margin thresholds, maximum training examples, Test Classification, and Recalculate Unreviewed Calls. Administrator-reviewed calls receive the strongest learning weight; False Alarm calls are not used to train the adaptive model.

Address History Lookback

Each display profile can use 1/3/6 months; 1/2/3/5/10 years; or Indefinite. The selected window affects both category summary and detailed address-history fallback.

CSV history import

Administration → CSV Import accepts an Active911 alert export. Existing incidents update by Active911 alert ID and new records are added as historical calls.

Mutual Aid / Department Assistance

B.3 automatically determines aid given from CAD agency mappings and records aid received per incident. External mapped CAD prefixes count as We Helped Them; local prefixes marked Our Department do not. Unmapped prefixes count as Unknown until reviewed.

Station Display profiles can include a Mutual Aid idle slide with YTD / Last Month / This Month We Helped Them and They Helped Us counts. Monthly reports populate mutual-aid totals automatically.

Address Notes

Use Administration → Address Notes for concise property access, hazard, responder-safety, and operational information associated with a location. Keep entries factual, relevant, and appropriate for department personnel.

Announcements

Create/manage department announcements from Administration. Current announcements appear to authenticated members and can participate in station-display rotation when enabled in the display profile.

Public Display, public maps & /weather

Public Display controls the available public statistics screens: Statistics Overview, Call Trends, Time of Day, Daily Calls by Month, Active Incidents, Current Month Heat Map, and Year to Date Heat Map.

Public privacy

Incident locations use generalized nearest-100-block or named-intersection labels and privacy-safe coordinates; exact address/CAD IDs/narrative/responders are not part of the public incident object. Public incident times are rounded to the nearest 30 minutes.

Public Weather

/weather presents current conditions, radar, every active NWS alert, and alert polygons. Public lightning is a separate opt-in and uses only the configured department weather point.

Analytics, reports & security history

Monthly & Yearly Reports generate printable department statistics, including automatic mutual-aid data. Analytics & Security separates public usage analytics from security/audit records and includes security events such as display pairing denial/revocation.

Emergency Operations Center mode

EOC Management is available to Admins and EOC Managers. EOC mode holds private station-board incidents independently from normal display timers; public timing is unchanged.

Map controls for the activation

Choose Zoomed In — Calls & Stations, Zoomed Out — Approaching Weather, or Switch Between Views. Configure switch interval, Weather overlay, Aircraft mode (Off/All/Helicopters), and Map controls. These are activation-specific overrides; disabling EOC returns future activations to Mapping defaults.

Call/resource management

Reclassify calls, review narratives, assign resources, set Enroute/On Scene, clear calls, and manage Apparatus Crews. Assigning an apparatus to a call automatically credits its current crew.

StationCommand Home

Administration → Integrations can configure multiple Home instances. Each has a name, webhook URL, signing secret, Respond API bearer token, enable state, and test action.

Live tracking privacy

Signed Home webhooks contain tracking availability metadata only, never exact responder/apparatus coordinates. Home uses the bearer-token Respond API for eligible current positions.

Calendar, Google Groups & Google Photos

This guide assumes OAuth application credentials are installer-managed. Department administrators configure the department-facing Calendar ID, Group email/mailbox settings, read-only connection, Photos slide, selected albums/collections, and refresh/test actions.

Calendar/Group integrations are read-only. Google Photos Collage is intended for internal display use.

Roles, rank & My Settings

Rank is separate from access level. Command ranks such as Chief, Deputy Chief, and Captain can receive officer incident controls while role determines administrative authorization.

My Settings lets a member update display name and control their own Active911 location-sharing consent/icon/color.

System Status

Use Administration → System Status as a first diagnostic stop. It summarizes application, Active911, active incident, and station-display health, with additional database/integration health available through the application.

Danger Zone

Purge All Incidents permanently removes incident data and requires active administrator authorization plus typed confirmation. Do not use destructive actions as routine troubleshooting.
