Open Mapping

Leaflet 1.9.4 is the StationCommand renderer. OpenStreetMap remains underneath every StationCommand map as the permanent visual foundation/fallback.

Map sources

The same enabled source list and priority order drives incident, EOC, Weather, heat-map, administrative, and public map surfaces. Each source has a name, type, priority, enabled state, URL/type, attribution, optional layers, role, and maximum zoom.

Address Matching & Road Snap

Private incident/station address resolution can try enabled ArcGIS GeocodeServer providers before the OpenStreetMap fallback. A configured ArcGIS road-centerline MapServer can validate/snap the resolved point to the road.

After configuring providers, use Test Address and confirm the returned provider, score, and road snap are sensible.

Kent County GIS preset

For Kent County installations, Add Kent County GIS Preset adds Kent BaseMap, Kent Streets, Kent Master/Composite geocoders, road-centerline snapping, Kent Aerial 2026, Kent Aerial 2023, and Esri World Imagery. Review the settings and click Save Mapping Settings; adding the preset alone does not save it.

Default map features

Administration can set per-map defaults for map controls, weather overlay, and aircraft mode. Aircraft modes are Off, All aircraft, or Helicopters only. Set aircraft radius (10–150 NM), refresh (15–120 seconds), and whether weather or aircraft is the top operational layer.

Aircraft labels include direction, callsign, type, speed, altitude, distance, and an on-map feed/status indicator. The server can fail over among multiple aircraft providers and briefly use cached data during an upstream outage.

Multiview satellite detail

Enable Multiview to add a close satellite panel to incident/EOC mapping. Satellite mode can be automatic by independent satellite priority or manually pinned to a provider. Zoom is configurable from 15 through 22 and is clamped/fallen back when the provider cannot supply the requested detail.

On the normal incident screen, the route map and satellite detail use an adaptive sibling split so the satellite panel does not cover the operational route map. The close satellite panel uses the same category-colored incident pin and coordinate as the primary map.

Google Street View

Street View is optional and off by default. When enabled, StationCommand searches for an official Google panorama within the configured 25–250 meter radius. If a usable panorama exists at a non-intersection incident, the detail area splits between satellite and Street View and initially faces the incident.

• Intersections intentionally skip Street View and keep the satellite panel full-size.
• No panorama within the radius is a normal result, not necessarily a configuration failure.
• Google/authentication/billing/referrer problems should be tested from Test Google Street View.
• If Street View is unavailable, the satellite panel expands automatically.

Response-map behavior

The normal response map focuses on the station assigned to the display, that station's route, and the incident destination. Other configured stations no longer force the route viewport to zoom out, although their markers may still be visible naturally inside the view and carry persistent station-name labels.

Mapping acceptance test

• Save Mapping settings and reload the page to confirm persistence.
• Test a known address and verify geocoder/road snap.
• Open an incident map and verify the route and true marker position.
• Verify satellite Multiview at an incident if enabled.
• Use Test Google Street View if Street View is enabled.
• Verify Weather and EOC overlays as configured.
• If aircraft is enabled, verify the map reports live count/provider or a clear empty/error status.
